click image for brochure TCT Renewable Energy started with wind turbines as our first offering because it meshed well with our extensive experience in erecting and maintaining commercial communication and broadcast towers. However, we knew that in order to service our customer base in an acceptable manner, we needed to add additional technologies. We had been on the receiving end of many statements like, “We are not eligible for any grant money” or “Our on site wind speed is too low”. Unfortunately, these comments became all too frequent. Ohio, and the surrounding regions, are not exactly the Saudi Arabia of wind leaving many energy users without a wind turbine option. And some customers are not in a position to capitalize on the current government subsidies; subsidies that soon may cease to exist. When one considers the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) energy maps for the country, it becomes clear that Ohio is not at the top of the food chain in either potential solar or wind capacity. One thing that Ohio does have in spades is biomass capacity. That considerable biological resource is thanks in part to our massive farming industry, but also comes from an amazing number of other sources, as well. And most amazing is the fact that most of this animal waste, human waste, agricultural waste and food processing waste goes to, well, waste.
Enter SEaB Energy and their ingenious Muckbuster anaerobic digester. The Muckbuster unit can transform this waste into methane or electricity to power our homes, farms, schools and companies. Moreover, they can do it at a cost that produces very acceptable returns on investment (ROI) and internal rate of returns (IRR). Just 400 liters of waste a day can produce up to 55,000 kWh of electricity annually. How much is 400 liters? Just about the amount of food that the average McDonald’s throws away daily or the amount of waste produced daily by 10 head of cattle or horses.”
